Assalamualaikum pembaca maya sekalian :)

sorry for MIA these past few days. i was...well busy with stuffs. hope it is not too late to wish my fellow malaysian 'HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR'. angpow lai lai gua tak nikah lagi jadi masih layak terima angpow :)

so...where have i been to?


i went up north! i have always been attached with the northern part of malaysia. i don't know why but i love it there. spent 4 years completing my degree there...not to mention both my ex-roomates are from perlis. coinsidence,no?

But this time it is a little bit special because i was on a quest (ceh, quest.mcm main online game la konon). one of my closest friend is getting engaged! it was an ad-hock thing. things happen so quickly. if i can paint a painting to describe the whole process, it would be like this :

i arrived in sri iskandar (from shah alam) late evening on 19th january then me and pocik head to perlis after maghrib. oh nasib baik gerak 1 day before the holiday kicks in. kalau tak for sure sangkut dlm traffic. the traffic was smooth, alhamdullilah :)


The engagement took place on sunday (22nd jan) but......2 days before sunday, we still didnt manage to get everything sorted out! and pocik was having her period pain attack (trust me, it is not like normal period pain.it is like she is about to give birth. i've seen it with my own eyes). we were busy going back and forth to kedah to settle some things until on saturday night, me and pocik looked at each other and asked

"betul ke ni saya nak bertunang esok ema? sirih junjung tak siap,backdrop pun tak ada, rumah tak kemas..."
to tell you the truth, i, too, was asking myself the same question. i, too, was afraid of what is going to happen the next day. but i know there's always a way for every problem. so i told pocik to just go to bed and we'll settle the rest tmrw morning. yes,it was a gamble - you might/might not get things done the morning of the event day.

luckily on the day of the engagement, came 5 beautiful angels (yes, beautiful...and handsome) to the rescue! they were pocik's college and students. one of the advantage of working in art and design faculty is that you are surrounded by creative people who can simply turn normal A4 coloured papers into something so amazing and beautiful just with some glue and paper clips!they did the final touch ups for the hantarans. one of the managed to siapkan the sirih junjung :) and he is a guy!pfft..art lecturer.they can do anything when it comes to turning things into an art.

one of the students prepared pocik; make up! she is so brilliant! cantik sangat dia mekap. just like a pro :) while we women were busy getting ready the boys were doing their best to help around the house. oh so cute! and pocik also gets 4 ad-hock photographers to capture her big day!

As for the rombongan, they actually just arrived in perlis that morning around 10am. they came from klang the day before and was stuck in traffic for 16 hours! kebas ke tak kebas lama macam tu? but alhamdullilah, they were on time and the 'discussion' went well for both parties. walaupun penat travel lama and jauh, all of them were happy:)

yes, amal is a giant. he is sooo tall that when i stand besides him i looked like a midget! amal is soooo nice. he might be one of the nicest guy i have ever met. always insist me to eat whenever we hang out and always buys me food. literally...always. pocik is very lucky!VERYVERYVERY SUPER LUCKY!if i could i would have tell how they met and how they actually got engaged. it is one beautiful love story :) sungguh aku tak tipu. a very romantic one.

the next day we went to kedah for paen's wedding. paen is pocik's best guy-friend. 



...then pocik took me to the sawah padi! yeahhh at last! this is my first time selama 25 tahun dpt pegang sawah. oh ye memang jakun but i grew up not in a state where you can find paddy fields as your backyard. it was nice...we took the bike to the sawah and snap some photos. it has been a while since i last rode the bike but...ehem..still got it baby!



before we left perlis, sempat pergi to one of my housemate's house in alor star. we went for lunch at adileen's house. super yummy! i even help myself for a second round (muka tak malu). but it was delish! who can say no to masak lemak cili api beb?

by the way, another one of my ZF darlings got engaged last saturday. too bad i could be there since i was in perlis. but with the help of technology (whatsapp) i was not left behind. congrats mizah! you're going to be the 1st to get married this year! and get pregnant too! hahaha.


so there you go...my chinese new year was filled with engagements and weddings. and lots and lots of food! delicious food! 

and now i am back home in kuantan...i am going to do some serious cooking and baking. watch this space for recipes and my baking pictures :)
